Streets Ahead Social led by prolific social networker, Dane Thomson has been shortlisted for the coveted ‘New Business of the Year’ award at this year’s Midlothian and East Lothian Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.

The news of the 9 business award categories shortlist broke on Friday 21st September, unveiling well known businesses such as: Safety Building Scheme, The Lighthouse North Berwick, The HR Dept Edinburgh and the Lothians to be up for gongs.

Speaking of being shortlisted for this prestigious business award, Dane Thomson, Streets Ahead Social Managing Director said: “I am beyond ecstatic to be in the running for this award. To be 10 months into running a business and shortlisted for such a high-profile accolade is a real honour and I am forever grateful to the Chamber for this opportunity to shine. I wish fellow ‘New Business of the Year’ finalists: Pie Dolly, JACK and IVY and East Lothian Clinical Canine Massage Centre the very best of luck on the big night.

Speaking about the prestigious awards, Keith Barbour, Joint Chief Executive at the Mid & East Lothian Chamber of Commerce, explained: “This year we received an exceptionally high volume of entries for all 9 of our categories, and to a very high standard, which made the final selection process quite challenging for our judges.

“We have an incredibly diverse range of businesses in Midlothian & East Lothian and it was important for us to open up more categories to businesses which otherwise may have not entered. It’s also great to see many returning businesses, and many new organisations names in the running. Special thanks go to all of our award sponsors who continue to help make this annual celebration such a success.”
